“Featuring the largest collection of UFC athletes that Canada has ever seen” said Dana White, UFC’s head honcho. This is not a PR spin, the UFC will make history this Saturday night at the Rogers Centre by packing a record 55000 fans into the arena to watch Georges St-Pierre defend the UFC welterweight title against Jake Shields. As if that wasn’t enough they have featherweight champion Jose Aldo putting his pride and belt on the line against local fighter Mark Hominick in what promises to be an electryfing night.
I was able to see the genuine interest of Torontonians and visitors from all over north america in what has so far been a very well organized event. There is still time to check the UFC fan expo. For details on the fight check here.
