The ringleader of the Ukrainian fascist organization Right Sector, Alexander Muzychko, was killed in a special police operation, was killed in a special police operation, First Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Evdokimov told reporters on Tuesday. Under the leadership of Right Sector, which recently became a political party, Muzychko played a key role in the attacks on law-enforcement forces and the assaults on government buildings during the protests in Kiev that led to the armed overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovich on February 22.
A warrant for the arrest of the ringleader of Right Sector had been issued, according to the Ukrainian first deputy minister, due to the many vandalistic acts and threats or violent actions against law-enforcement agents. (PL)
