The 2014 TAIWAN International Documentary Festival, one of the major professional platforms in Asia for documentaries, is now calling for entries. The entry deadline is May 30, 2014. The organizers are looking for documentaries that are creative, relevant to social and human interests, and have unique points of view.
The competition consists of 3 categories, International Competition, Asian Vision Competition and Taiwanese Competition, with a total cash-prize of NT$2.5 million (approx. US$84,000.) They have also raised the Grand Prize of Asian Vision Competition, in order to encourage filmmakers with unique Asian perspectives. Meanwhile, there’s also Chinese Documentary Award, Author’s POV Award, and Next Generation Award to seek for and listen to different points of view.
Filmmakers are encouraged to submit documentaries completed after 2012 July 1. An Asian premiere is required, except for Taiwanese productions and films screened in production country(ies). All submission must be made on TIDF onlineentry system.
