French President, Unpopular again

hollande_bigFrench President Francois Hollande’s popularity fell in February, especially due to labor difficulties in the country, a poll by the Odoxa Institute revealed today.

The president’s popularity decreased five points, reaching just 26 percent.

In the case of Prime Minister Manuel Carlos Valls, the poll also showed a six-point decrease in his popularity, reaching just 47 percent.

Those data show that the popularity of both officials has reached similar levels to those recorded in December, 2014, some days before the attacks in early January in Paris that favored the image of Hollande and Valls.

The results are in line with research by other entities, such as the French Institute of Public Opinion and the Ipsos Social Research Institute, which revealed a downward trend in the indicator, at a time when economic concerns are increasing in the country. (PL)
