Communist Leader Considers Opposition Leader Killing a Provocation

Guennadi-ZiugánovGennady Zyuganov, president of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), stated today that the murder of opposition leader Boris Nemtzov should be investigated rapidly because it may be used against the country with unpredictable consequences.

“The crime should be considered as a bloody and brutal provocation against our motherland and all Russian citizens”, declared emphatically the head of the second most important political force in the Euroasian state.

“We need to show efficiency, use the most talented forces and urgently clear up this murder that may have grave consequences”, added as he indicated all enemies of Russia will exploit to the maximum this killing.

The politician referred to other conflicts in history of great magnitude that started after incidents with apparently no links.

It seems as though sanctions were not enough and bloody victims are necessary to create disturbances in the middle of Moscow, commented Ziuganov.

The Communist leader recalled that he held a lot of meetings with Nemtzov when the Russian right wing representative was governor of the region of Nizhny Novgorod and described him as an open minded man who did not fear dialog.

Of course, his liberal vision did not help the country nor did it help him, concluded Ziuganov in statements to channel TV Tsentr.

Moscow authorities, meanwhile, authorized a mourning march to pay homage to the opposition leader, who when he died, was a deputy of the regional duma (legislative chamber) of Yaroslav.

Born in 1959 in Sochi, Nemztov studied radio-physics at the University of Nizhny Novgorod, where he received the degree of doctor in sciences in mathematical-physics.

As of 1990, Nemtzov started his political career, getting to be Vice President during the Boris Yeltsin administration until he was sacked during the 1998 crisis.

He was a deputy of the State Duma (parliamentary low chamber) from 1999-2003.

He later founded the Democratic Unified Movement together with Garry Kasparov and former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov and was also Co-President of the Party Popular Liberty (Parnas). He was later co-chair of the Republican Party of Russia – People’s Freedom Party (RPR-PARNAS)

He was shot Friday from a car in movement when he walked on a bridge near the Kremlin. (PL)
