- Heavy Metal Lead Singer to Shave Head in Support of Cause -

Toronto, ON January 4, 2011 – Halcyon Records and event host Barry Taylor of AUX TV, will take over the legendary Hard Rock Cafe at Yonge & Dundas Square on January 15, 2011 in support of the SickKids Foundation.  A rock n’roll event with heart & soul not to be missed, tickets are currently on sale for $10 in advance or on the day, doors open at 8:00pm EST.

Founded by Amplitusion front man James Sheehan, the event vision is simple – to mesh the worlds of music and charity together.  Sheehan will lead by example and kick off the evening by shaving his metal-mane on stage, donating his locks to Continental Hair (an organization that facilitates the creation of hair pieces and wigs for children with cancer).  Afterwards the shears will be open and welcome to anybody with eligible [long enough] locks who wishes to follow his lead and donate their hair.

Additional evening festivities include:

  • Special appearance by renowned DJ Starboy
  • Raffles / giveaways – including 2 custom event Guitar Matz each with an electric guitar courtesy of Steve’s Music
  • Performance by the illustrious band Amplitusion

SickKids Foundation was established in 1972. The Foundation’s fundraising is driven by the belief that improving the health and wellbeing of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society.
