Oscars 2011 Recap

With a ceremony that ended earlier than usual and with not-so-funny hosts, James Franco and Anne Hathaway, the 2011 Oscars have finally come and gone.  The jokes were not funny and the hosts appeared to be trying too hard.  Now, whether that was their fault or just not having witty writers, we cannot say for certain.  Former host, Billy Crystal and Kurt Douglas stole the spotlight from Franco and Hathaway.  According to various reports ratings were down by 10% this year… The point is, the ceremony was simply tedious to watch.

All in all, there were no major surprises in last night’s winners but perhaps a couple of disappointments for Canadians rooting for the film Incendies, nominated in the Foreign Language Film category and for Adrien Morot‘s efforts in Make Up for Barney’s Version.
