2011 ReelWorld Film Festival

ReelWorld Film Festival (RWFF) celebrates cultural diversity with Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Music Videos, Industry Panels and so much more. Films from South Africa, Iran, Philippines, South Korea, Congo, Barbados, Spain, Mauritius, Turkey, United Kingdom with almost 70% Canadian content.

RWFF opens up tonight with, Rohan Fernando‘s Canadian Feature Film Snow. Snow, follows Parvati, young woman whose life is changed forever when the tsunami strikes a small village in Sri Lanka, washing away everyone in her immediate family – including her twin sister, Kala. Now, Parvati finds herself in Canada, trying to navigate a new life while living in an unfamiliar culture, with distant relatives she has never met. “In a way, Parvati is like a newborn when she wakes up in Canada, groping and stumbling, hoping to one day find herself. Both director and star will be in attendance for tonight’s screening.

There are several other films screening throughout the week until Sunday, April 10. Most screenings take place in the evenings; making it easier for you to attend. There is also a Video Music Night on Friday, April 8. This year, showcasing 26 music videos from some of Canada’s hottest Music Video Directors & Recording Artists including the “World Premiere” of Recording Artist JRDN’s New Music Video. Also participating in the night, Canadian Icon, Hip-Hop Artist and Actor, Wes “Maestro” Williams. Wes will take your questions at a special Q & A following the screening. By keeping your Video Music Night ticket, you can attend the Official After Party at LIVE Nightclub hosted by Wes, with music by DJ 4 Korners.
