60,000 People Lose Their Jobs in Spain in November

About 60 thousand people lost their jobs in the last 30 days in Spain and 310 000 did in a year, according to data released Friday by the Labor Ministry in that country. The nation’s unemployment rose for the fourth consecutive month and the service sector had the largest reported layoffs.

59 536 unemployed adds to the overall unemployment in Spain which has now reached 4 420 462 million, in a month the index rose 1.37 percent.
Other data as the Labour Force Survey (LFS ), considered by the press as the best barometer of the labor market, says the number reaches 4 978 300 million unemployed.

Compared to 2010, unemployment has increased by 310 168 people, 7.55 percent.

Unemployment in Spain the third quarter reached 21.52 percent of the workforce, the highest percentage of the European Union and OECD countries.

This month, unemployment rose in all sectors except agriculture where it fell 2 571 people.

In the service sector loses were 48 788 people, 5 769 in construction, and in industry 3 389. Unemployment for foreigners was also affected, with 9 664 more unemployed in November (1.57 percent) compared to October and 19 103 in relation to the same month last year, bringing the total of unemployed people in this group to 625 429.
