Mozart´s Unpublished Score Found in Austria

A piano piece attributed to componer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) was recently discovered by a researcher in an abandoned notebook in the Austrian Tyrol.

According to sources from the Mozarteum Foundation, the score, of which few details have been offered so far, will be performed on March 23 in Salzburg, the birthplace of the great composer.

The piece, handwritten by a Tyrolean copyist, was found by Hildegard Herrmann-Schneider while he was working on documenting ancient musical sources in the region.

The Foundation, established in 1880, has recently found other unpublished pieces by Mozart. In 2009, two compositions created by the author at the age of eight were found the Foundation’s archives.
