‘Notion Style’ is a brand new fashion boutique in Toronto. Founder and Toronto artist (painter), photographer and designer Bisa Bennett and her daughter Tijana Bennett celebrate the official opening with a launch event on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Notion Style (located at 3333 Yonge Street, north of Lawrence Avenue) offers contemporary sensibilities, time-honoured craftsmanship and organic fabrics imported from Italy and France in a suite of European and Canadian brands; including the premier of the signature ‘NOTION’ designs. The shop’s Autumn/Winter collection and the NOTION holiday collection is available for purchase in store only and will be available at the September launch event.

Designer Bisa Bennett states, “I have always been passionate about fashion – everything about fashion. The artist in me sees beyond any given piece itself. It’s all about textures, colours, the way a material feels to the touch. And most importantly, it’s about how the clothes make someone feel about themselves. I love seeing women wearing unique, feminine and delicate clothing. My goal was to bring these attributes to my own boutique.

My daughter Tijana and I look forward to the launch event and to share our passion for style and fashion. We believe that you wear the clothes; they don’t wear you.”

Moving easily from day into night, Bennett’s signature NOTION brand distinguishes itself by the use of French lace, velvet, silk and other organic fabrics. The pieces may also be made to order, and Bennett will also debut this line in Italy in the fall of 2012. Preview the NOTION line at; http://www.youtube.com/NotionStyle.

Tijana Bennett’s presence is important towards the NOTION brand. She embodies the true spirit of the line, and whether a woman in her early twenties or late forties, that youthful, chic, hip, yet edgy and contemporary look is NOTION designs.

Bisa Bennett (who lives in the Yonge and Lawrence area of Toronto) started designing and sewing at an early age (learning from her mother), which led to owning her first boutique in Belgrade in the early 1990’s. She also exhibited great promise as a young artist. Later she worked as a multimedia designer, showed an interest in photography and established herself as a painter. Her current paintings are infused with her signature red colour and ripe with mature influences. Bennett received her formal artistic training in Belgrade and Toronto, and her work has been exhibited in Europe, Canada and the USA. Bennett has now gone back to her roots and first love in fashion design.
