LUSH Deodorant

lush-aromaco-aromarant_cr1This month I decided to feature the LUSH deodorant. I ran across this interesting product one day as I was getting my product ‘fix’ while I was perusing the shopping malls. The LUSH deodorant is intriguing because it boasts 100% natural ingredients. As an individual with mega sensitive skin, I wanted to try this product because typical commercial brand deodorants usually irritate. I was curious as to how this product would stand up to regular day to day use but most importantly how I would feel after a super sweaty workout. With LUSH’s awesome return policy, I had no hesitations to give it a try. (I was told that if I was allergic to the product or didn’t like it I could return it within 30 days, used or unused and get my money back.) Furthermore, if you are sitting on the fence about a product they could easily just whip you up a sample and you could try it at home and determine if you like it or not. No other drugstore could make a product be so amenable and customer friendly if you ask me!

LUSH’s deodorant comes in several yummy scents. Some are so good you’d want to eat them because of the natural ingredients they put in them. I bought my little bit of LUSH deodorant – Aromaco and when I tried it I was immediately so surprised at how it felt on my skin when I applied it. It felt just like normal lotion! It kept me dry and pretty smelling for most of the day although at like the 12th hour on my super long days it did start to lose its effectiveness (but seriously this is typical for ANY deodorant). I was however curious to how LUSH’s deodorant would stand up for people with different body chemistrys but most importantly, I was interested in how men found this product. I immediately contacted members in my Stylevox team and our publisher at Alternavox and asked for human test subjects to give me their first impressions.

Here’s what they said…

aromarant1I must admit I was a little curious as to how I would apply this to my body as it is not the run of the mill ergonomically perfect bar, but once you got over that particular visual component it was actually quite pleasant to use. It doesn’t have a sticky feel to it, in fact if you didn’t actually smell the lovely scent you would not feel anything. I was afraid that the patchouli would be something like what my oldest brother’s used when in their very bohemian days, but alas, it was soft and agreeable to me. As per the performance well it survived a rather sweaty and intense workout which says a lot to me, all in all a keeper specially since you just know you have no weird chemicals in there!

Tried TEO

incredible melting man the online

lush-teo_cropI play some pretty extreme sports to the point where I’m dripping with sweat, and so I gave TEO a try. It is LUSH’s more ‘potent’ deodorant. I must admit I was surprised by how well it held up especially with the intense activity level. It did not keep me as ‘dry’ as other commercial products but the reason why there is ‘dryness’ is due to the fact that other deodorants that are ‘anti perspirant’ actually clog your pores to prevent sweat from coming out. Eeewww.. To me if I am going to work out so hard that I am dripping with sweat everywhere else, sweat in my armpits are not the major issue. Now, I’m only going to wear the pore clogging deodorant if I am going to wear silk in 30+ degree weather to avoid ‘sweat stains’.
