Iran Ready to Immediatedly Resume Nuclear Talks

IranIranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said his country, Iran, is ready to resume nuclear talks with the P5+1 countries, following the signing of a preliminary agreement, according to statements released in this capital today. At his arrival at Mehrabad airport, the Iranian Foreign minister said that the accord signed on Sunday has two points establishing that there would be no solution to the dispute with the Western powers without the existence of an uranium enrichment program in Iran.

The G5+1 is formed by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, The United States, Russia, France, China, and The United Kingdom, plus Germany, which is not part of the bloc.

Mohammad Javad Zarif added that the Sunday interim agreement is only a first step, and Iran is ready to resume talks with the Western powers tomorrow in order to reach the a final treaty to resolve the ten-year-old dispute.

The Foreign minister praised the Iranian people for its resistance against pressures for the last few years, making reference to the package of economic, diplomatic, and financial sanctions imposed on the Persian country by the United States, France, and the United Kingdom, which have restricted Iranian oil exports and banned many of its imports and exports.

According to the recent agreement, Iran could use up to $8billion USD of its frozen assets in Western banks and Washington, Paris, and London will refrain from decreeing sanctions in a six-month period. (PL)
