Calling all photographers!
Whether you are a professional shutterbug or strictly amateur, Alternavox needs you! May is our “City Issue” and to celebrate we challenge you to capture the beauty, diversity and culture that is Toronto. We are looking for unique and original images that allow you to look behind the lens and examine the intricacies and hidden gems that this city has to offer.
To enter the challenge:
- please send 1-3 images to our Photo Editor at valentina@alternavox.net
- Or you may post the images to our Flickr group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/alternavox/

By midnight May 11, 2009.
A committee will review the photos and a winning photo will be selected. The winner of the challenge will receive:
- A $50 gift certificate from Henry’s
- A profile of the winner in our June issue in the Paintbox section
- The winning photo will also be incorporated into a design for the official Alternavox t-shirt
A selection of all the entries will be featured in a photo gallery in our upcoming May 15, 2009 issue. Good luck and have fun!

A friend sent me this link and I’m very excited to participate. I had a question for you…do you have a flickr group?
I ask because you might get quite a few entries that way as well. Many blogs out there (Torontoist, BlogTO, etc) feature pictures from the photographer community and when wanting submissions…they ask that photogs add their images to the group pool with a unique tag (i.e. ‘AlternavoxMayCity’)
Just may make it easier for you to view and cull submissions.
Oh and do you have a twitter account as well?
Anyway, just a thought…looking forward to submitting!
