If you are a fan of Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters you’re going to love the newest game being produced by Lionhead Studios. Fable Two is an authentic action-RPG (role-playing-game) coming out for X-Box 360. The creator, Peter Molyneux, designed this game hoping that beginners can button mash while at the same time hard-core players can still find the game an intense experience.
The newest feature the Molyneux released is the dog! Every hero will have a furry canine companion. The dog is with you from the very beginning. It will morph according to your alignment, so if you play as a good character it will be a nice “pretty” dog, such as a golden retriever, and if you play as an evil character it will be a mean “hellish” dog, such as a Doberman, that growls at people passing by. The dog will also be able to sense enemies that are in the vicinity and interesting things as you pass them. The dog will be a great new addition to Fable 2 because it enables a completely different style of game play.
Morphing is another an important game play feature. There are extreme morphs which depend on Good, Evil, Purity, Corruption, Rich, Poor Cruelty, Kindness. Morphing is based on the skills you choose as you gain experience in the world of Albion. For example, if you focus on magic you get glowing blue veins and eyes and if you focus on strength you become a miniature Hulk. Basically morphing changes the way you look based on how you act and what you do in the world of Albion.
Another new and really amazing feature Molyneux announced was the Couch Co-op. So let’s say your playing Fable Two and your friend comes by. You’ll say “Go away I’m playing Fable Two” right? Wrong! Instead with Fable Two’s new Co-op system you can play the whole story with your friend or sibling… From the very beginning you and your friend can smash through Hobbes or flirt with girls. What you do is up to you. The person joining your world is called a henchman. They get paid (not by you) for the amount of time they play with you. You can decide the amount of gold they get, the amount of experience they get from killing monsters and the amount of renown they get from quests. Your friend can jump in the game at any time. So whether you’re killing a boss or hacking on Hobbes, you two can have a blast.
If you’re too excited to wait for Fable 2, you can buy the Fable 2 Pub Games on the X-Box Live marketplace. If you pre-order Fable 2 online, you get the Pub Games free. The Pub Games are gambling games on Fable Two that you can play and win gold that you can transfer over to your character when you get Fable Two. If you’re really devoted, you can end up with 10,000 gold near the beginning of the game.
