Lily Allen

Lily Allen is no stranger to controversy, a tumultuous childhood; a miscarriage after a hasty marriage and subsequent divorce and an ever-so-strange affinity for creating conflict between her peers. Anyway, Lily Allen is back with a new look, a new attitude and well of course a new album.

Her newest album It’s Not Me, It’s You, released this February 10th is a commitment to the new and improved Lily Allen. Well who is this new Lily Allen exactly? It’s Not Me, It’s You batman begins divx download

watch rounders in divx download ferryman the divx before the devil knows you re dead dvd seeks to explain this by having a new album reflecting a more personal and politically vocal Lily. The album opener “Everyone’s at It ” deals with Lily’s struggle to face her personal demons, while the upcoming track and debut single “The Fear” is the classic Lily Allen unapologetic style of taking a quick stab at celebrity culture. Also worth mentioning, is Lily Allen’s new political voice from the rantings of the track “Fuck You,” this time-shifting from celebrity to politician singing about everybody’s favorite president “Dubya”. Although relatively catchy, the song won’t particularly garner a lot of attention it deserves despites its lewd title, because apparently now Barry Obama is in the house and everyone for the time being anyway loves America. Despite Lily’s bravery and honesty in this album, I do have to admit that it has the grown-up taste of a Happy Meal. While the catchiness of her singles such as “The Fear” are undeniable, unfortunately there aren’t many songs of that calibre on this album that measure up to the sheer and utter joy of previous singles “LDN”, “Smile and Alfie.” While her newest efforts may lack the diversity and edge of her previous record, it’s still a solid record and Lily Allen? She’s Alright Still.
