It’s that time of the year again, the hot beautiful summer brings us ethnic food festivals all over our lovely city. The former organizer of Toronto Night Market presents NIGHT IT UP! This is happening on Friday July 10, 7pm – 1am & Saturday July 11, 1 pm – 1am.

NIGHT IT UP! will showcase many exotic favours and regional delicacies with Asian street foods such as: the curried fish balls from Hong Kong, Xin Jiang style flame-grilled lamb skewers seasoned with cumin and chilli, and Japanese takoyaki – fried dumpling stuffed with diced octopus, tempura, pickled ginger and green onion, topped with an exquisite sauce made of mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce, and katsuobushi (fish shavings). But the most infamous delicacy of the night will have to be the notarious stinky tofu – the unofficial national snack food of Taiwan – as the deep-fried fermented tofu fills the air with its distinctive aroma.

The festival will also be delighted by multicultural performances includes dance groups and musicians from various genre such as pop/rock, indie rock, hip-pop, punk, and Asian rock. We will also be graced by dynamic choreographed martial arts and a variety of local talents showcasing their finest offerings.

You will probably see me munching on some takoyaki and stinky tofu this evening. Cheers!
