Halloween: H20 Pitch: This smart and suspensefull thriller scares up a bone-chilling good time with the original scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis (True Lies, Halloween 1 & 2) and a hot cast of hip young stars! Now the headmistress of a private school, Laurie Strode (Curtis) is still struggling with the horrifying, 20-year-old memories of the maniacal killer Michael Myers when he suddenly reappears with a vengeance. And this Halloween, his terror will strike a whole new generation! Laurie’s rebellious son (Josh Hartnett) – The Faculty), his girlfriend (Michelle Williams- TV’s Dawson’s Creek), and the school security guard (LL Cool J – Woo, B.A.P.S.) will become Michael’s newest victims unless Laurie can conquer her greatest fears and put evil in its place once and for all! The time has come again for you to experience the frightening fun of Halloween – the motion picture series that totaly redefined terror!

Halloween Resurrection Pitch: The reality programmers at DangerTrainment have selected Rudy, Bill and a group of thrill-seeking teenagers to spend one fun-filled night in the childhood home of serial killer Michael Myers. But the planned live broadcast turns deadly when their evening of excitement becomes a night of horror as Michael himself decides to crash the party !

Our Take: An entertaining double package, but we must point out that out of the two, Halloween H2o is a much superior film than Resurrection. Better performances and a more nuanced sense of humor help a lot. Can’t quite go wrong with a 2-in-1 package if you want to have a genuine popcorn Slasher night!

Director: David Atkins
Cast: Steve Martin, Helena Bonham Carter, Laura Dern/ Richard Gere , Helen Hunt , Farrah Fawcett , Laura Dern

Novocaine Pitch: Dr. Frank Sangster is a straight-laced dentist who, because of one innocent lie, finds his tidy, prosperous life transformed into a comic quagmire of illicit sex, illegal drugs and inexplicable murder in this brilliantly offbeat, bitingly comedic film!

Dr.T & the Women Pitch: Director Robert Altman re-teams with Cookie’s Fortune scribe Anne Rapp for this tale of a Dallas gynecologist and the parade of anxious patients, haggard family members, and potential love interests who come his way. Richard Gere plays the titular role of Dr. Sullivan Travis, a calm, successful, and much sought-after ob-gyn who witnesses his normally stable life come apart over the course of one rainy autumn. As the film opens, Dr. T and his wife Kate are preparing for the wedding of their Dallas Cowboys cheerleader daughter Dee Dee. Their other daughter, the Kennedy-assassination conspiracy theorist, Connieù has her doubts about the impending nuptials. Dr. T chalks them up to routine sibling jealousy. Meanwhile, escaping a messy divorce, boozy sister-in-law Peggy moves into the Travis household with her three toddler daughters in tow. For release, Dr. T finds solace target shooting and golfing (occasionally at the same time) with his buddies; and at his country club, he meets a beguiling golf pro, Bree. When the child-like Kate loses her grip on reality during a flatware shopping spree, Bree offers to give the kindly doctor some lessons in his swing, both on and off the fairways.

Our Take: Few directors could match Robert Altman’s creative output, but Dr.T & The Women is not, to my thinking his best offering and remains one of his least liked movies. For my money I prefer the excellent performances and dark sense of humor of Novocaine, nonetheless you can’t quite go wrong with a double bill like this.
