Islamists Calls to Rise Up Against Egyptian Army

The islamists from the islamistsEgyptian Muslim Brotherhood (MB) today called on its members to rise up against those who want to steal the revolution and accused the Army of carrying out a massacre this morning.

According to MB sources, Army and security forces attacked demonstrators who were in a sit-in in front of the Republican Guard Headquarters while making their Fajr (Dawn) prayers.

Forty-two people were killed and and another 322 injured, some seriously, in Monday clashes outside the military building in Cairo, according to an Egyptian Health Ministry spokesperson, who previously reported 35 dead, though official sources mentioned two more.

An Army version reveals that one army officer was killed and 40 soldiers were injured by armed terrorists who attacked the military facility, in which it is presumed to be held toppled President Mohamed Morsi.

The MB statement via its electoral arm, the Liberty and Justice Party, released through its Facebook webpage, accuses the Army of launching tear gases and pellets at the faithful.

The Armed Forces Command reported the arrest of 200 people who had huge quantities of weapons, munitions, and Molotov cocktails.

The Islamists say in their communique that maybe there are still wise men among the military who can stop that “abnormal behaviour” in the Egyptian Army.

Some 5,000 MB supporters were dispersed from the street that connects the RG headquarters, where ex President Mohamed Morsi is supposed to be held, and the command of the Air Force, where they staged a sit-in protest. No fatalities were reported.

In a previous communiqué issued on Sunday, shortly after islamists MB supporters took to the streets in downtown Cairo, where they clashed with opponents of the overthrown president, the command of the Armed Forces warned that severe legal measures would be taken against those who attack peaceful demonstrations.
